Government Expects Decline in Agricultural Production in 2015
The emerging trend of this year's decline in crop production in Azerbaijan will continue in 2015, the government forecasts decline of gross agricultural production by 0.8%.
This year, the Ministry of Agriculture to improve the system of control over agricultural subsidies held a number of monitoring actions, during which they revealed exaggeration of areas under crops. In addition, the grain yield decreased by an average of 3.6 kilograms.
During the first 9 months of this year, agricultural production was 4.3 billion manat, decreasing by 3.7%.
According to the government forecasts in 2015, on a par with agricultural products there will be also reduction in the oil and gas industry (-2.7%), while the economy will grow by 3.6%. --08B--
