Ilham Aliyev Approves Strategic Road Maps of National Economy
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on December 6 signed a decree approving the "Strategic road maps of the national economy and the main sectors of the economy."
These documents define the objectives and long-term development in the whole of the national economy and its separate directions.
The head of state in particular adopted the following strategic road maps:
- Strategic road map for the long term of the national economy of Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of the oil and gas industry (including chemicals) in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the production and processing of agricultural products in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the production of consumer goods in Azerbaijan at the level of small and medium-sized enterprises;
- Strategic road map for the development of heavy industry and engineering in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of specialized tourism industry in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of logistics and trade in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of housing at affordable prices in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of vocational education and training in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of financial services in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of telecommunication and information technologies in Azerbaijan;
- Strategic road map for the development of public utilities (electric and thermal energy, gas and water supply) in Azerbaijan.
It is noteworthy that the President entrusted the overall management and control of the implementation of strategic road maps not to the Cabinet, but to the Administration of the President of Azerbaijan. -06D--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.

This meeting followed a discussion held the previous day between Figi and Azerbaijan’s Economy Minister Mikail Jabbarov.
