Import of Wheat Decreased by More Than Two Times
In the first quarter of 2016 the volume of wheat imports to Azerbaijan amounted to 22.8 thousand tons, which is 57.3% less than in the comparable period of 2015, the State Statistics Committee told Turan.
Russia accounts for 79.4% (168.2 thousand tons) of wheat supply to Azerbaijan. It is a major exporter of grain to Azerbaijan. In January-March 2015, 91.5% of the imported wheat was accounted for by Russia.
In the first quarter a ton of wheat was delivered to Azerbaijan for $ 186. Compared with the same period last year, the average price of imported wheat has decreased by $ 50.5.
