In Azerbaijan, 141 subjects of natural monopoly recognized
The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the list of subjects of natural monopolies. The list includes 8 private institutions.
Natural monopoly on transportation and distribution of oil and natural gas found 4 SOCAR structures and pipeline companies - representatives of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and South Caucasus Pipeline and AMOC.
Monopoly of production and distribution of electric power alone is JSC AzerEnergy and its 10 regional structures.
Air transport and its passengers are exclusively served by the state-run JSC Azerbaijan Airlines, Nakhchivan International Airport, as well as three structures of LLC Silk Way Holding (Ground Handling Company, Silkway Business Aviation and VIP Aviasiya Xidmetleri).
Providing telecommunications services are called natural monopolies eight structures of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, as well as of Baki Teleqrafi, LLC Ultel, AzEuroTel and Caspian American Telecommunications LLC.
JSC Azersu and 6 of its regional companies are a monopoly on water supply and sanitation services.
JSC Azeristiliktechizat is a monopoly of heating, Baku Metro - Metro transport operation, the Baku International Sea Trade Port - water port services, Azerbaijan Railways - the operation of international and local railway lines, stations and passenger stations.
The remaining 95 units of natural monopoly are Meliorasiya ve Su Teserrufati and its management on land reclamation, irrigation, hydro, sewers and canals.
The governmental decree was adopted on July 19, and is fully made public on the government website on July 30. - 08D-

Azerbaijan's financial standing continues to strengthen as the country's foreign currency reserves have surged to $71 billion as of January 1, 2025, according to the Ministry of Finance. This figure, which includes reserves held by the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) and the Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA), far exceeds the nation's external debt, which stands at a fraction of its reserves, specifically nearly 14 times less. This robust reserve position reflects Azerbaijan's fiscal stability and the government’s strategic economic management.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) has opened a representative office in Albania and is set to launch a specific project this year, the Albanian company "Albgaz" announced.
