In January, the foreign trade fell by 5.6%
Baku/18.02.14/Turan : In January 2014 the volume of foreign trade turnover with 101 countries totaled $ 2.4 billion , which is 5.6 % less than in the comparable period last year. Decreased performance , both in imports and exports of goods .
In January, exports of goods from the country ($ 1 870.8 million ) decreased by 2.7 %. The share of oil , natural gas and petroleum ( $ 1,750 million ) in the portfolio of exports was 93.5 %. The share of the public sector subject to oil and gas exports account for 95.1% of consortia exports.
Imports of goods in January amounted to $ 535.1 million, down 14.7% . State-owned enterprises imported goods worth $ 105 million or 19.7 % of imports. In January, largely decreased the import of vehicles and their spare parts (- 20.8%) , plastic products (- 56.2 %) , wood ( - 52.3% ), ferrous metals ( 30.8% ), etc.
Trade balance in January was $ 1 335.7 million in favor of exports .
The share of the CIS member states in the import and export of goods in January fell markedly . Azerbaijan imported from CIS countries goods worth $ 124 million , which is 26.7 % less than in January last year . Exports of goods in the reverse direction was $ 77.9 million , a decrease of 35.7%.
The EU's share in imports of Azerbaijan in January was 30.7 % ( $ 164.5 million). The volume of imports from Europe decreased by 24.6%. Azerbaijan exported goods to the European Union in the amount of $ 1,056 million, 4.3 % higher than in January 2013. -08D-
