Intelsat Rents Half Resources Azerspace-2
Management of LLC Azerkosmos will sign a long-term lease agreement with the International Telecommunications Satellite Organization Intelsat for 45.9% of the resources of the second national telecommunications satellite Azerspace-2.
According to the report the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan, after the talks an agreement was also signed on the use of satellite orbital position. The agreement of intent is ready and the agreement itself will be signed on these days. In addition, the grant awarded to LLC Azerkosmos by Agency on US Trade and Development (USTDA), helped to implement Feasibility Study (FS) and launch the satellite Azerspace-2, which is ready for consideration by the government.
Recall the launch into orbit of Azerispace-2 is scheduled for 2017. The telecommunications satellite Azerspace-1 was launched on February 9, 2013 from Kourou (in French Guiana). --17D-
