Kaspersky Lab Certified by Approved Whitelisting Service
Kaspersky Lab for the technology Dynamic Whitelist, built-in set security product to ensure the safety of computers using a trusted database software, was certified Approved Whitelisting Service on the results of tests conducted by an independent expert organization AV- Test.
As the press service of the organization, Kaspersky Lab has become the first developer security solutions have received such a certificate. AV-Test experts praised the reliability and speed of the technology "white" lists of Kaspersky Lab.
In trials conducted in the period from November 2012 to February 2013, experts AV-Test ran five different groups of tests. In particular, the estimated parameters such as database size, quality, speed, rate of false positives and work in the "default deny" that does not allow to run applications not from the "white" list.
To test the AV-Test has used its own database of about 20 million files, which are part of a different distribution of the software. For the approximation of test conditions to the reality of downloading software to a test carried out as from the sites of its producers, and from third-party resources that can spread through out-dated or modified versions of programs.
At the end of the five test solution Kaspersky Lab has shown good results. In particular, during the test it was proved that the database Dynamic Whitelist Kaspersky Lab contains 97.5% of all software related to the corporate sector and 96% of software used by home users. In addition, the decision showed the "knowledge" of all the important files of the operating system Windows 8. The system did not allow a single false positive - all the "clean" files and applications have been identified correctly.
"Every day in the world there is more than 200,000 samples of malicious software. In such circumstances, easier and more efficient to ensure your computer's security, focusing on the database and tested "clean" programs, rather than continually replenish the "black" lists of malicious software, simply because the malware will always be many times more than the legitimate," says Vladimir Zapolyansky, director of global product and technological positioning of Kaspersky Lab. "We are particularly pleased to receive a certificate from AV-Test, because now the reliability and efficiency of our solutions is confirmed by independent experts."
Total in database technology Dynamic Whitelist Kaspersky Lab contains more than 700 million unique files. This database is constantly updated by the company and more than 300 partners, software vendors.
Dynamic Whitelist technology products available in the Kaspersky Lab for home users, in particular in the Kaspersky Anti-Virus and Kaspersky Internet Security, as well as in the decision to protect corporate networks Kaspersky Security for business.
