Aslan Ismailov: the life of the arrested blogger is in danger
The lLawyer Aslan Ismailov called on the country's public to save the life of the arrested blogger, Rashad Agaddina. At a press conference at the Media Center on Friday, the lawyer said that Rashad Agaddin disappeared on May 9. Three days later his wife appealed to Ismayilov for help.
As it was established, Agaddin was arrested on charges of drug possession, allegedly nine grams of heroin were found with him. He is being held in the Chief Directorate to Combat Organized Crime of the Interior Ministry.
"They do not have a right to keep him there, and he was to be transferred to jail immediately. I helped Rashad to hire a lawyer Rovsan Shirinov. However, after May 13 the detainee is not allowed to meet with the lawyer. Probably, he was subjected to torture and abuse. I am afraid that something may happen to him, or has already happened," said Ismailov.
He appealed to the president of the country to understand and to punish all ill-treated Rashad Agaddin.
"If we do not defend this young man, one day we ourselves will be in his place," he said. For such facts the Interior Minister, Ramil Usubov, should resign, he said.
Aslan Ismailov said he is not sure that after this press conference similar thing will not happen to him. "I do not know what will happen to me after the press conference. If all that I have said about Rashad Agaddin is not true, then let they permit him a meeting," said Ismailov.
Rashad Agaddin is known for his sharp criticism of the government in the social network facebook. -04С-
