Armenian wants to participate in the presidential elections in Azerbaijan
Yerevan/17.05.13/Turan-ArmInfo: The head of the Assembly of Azerbaijani Armenians, Grigory Ayvazyan, intends to take part in the presidential elections in the country, he said this at a press conference in Yerevan.
"As a citizen of Azerbaijan, taking as the basis its Constitution, I intend to exercise my right - to participate in the presidential race. The Armenians have a right to participate in all political processes in Azerbaijan," he said.
Aivazyan stressed that he had prepared all the documents that he must be submit to the CEC, and if his candidacy will not be registered, it will mean that the authorities of this country are afraid of "even one Armenian."
In the case of the registration of his candidacy and participation in the election, Aivazyan is sure that he will obtain support of about 60% of the electorate, not only the votes of the Armenians - refugees, but also other ethnic minorities in Azerbaijan. "The Azerbaijani authorities have violated the political and economic rights of the Armenians, and our goal is to restore those rights. Armenians should be able to determine their own fate and the fate of the country," said Aivazyan.
