Latvia Supports Joint Economic Projects with Azerbaijan
In Riga, the VI meeting of the Azerbaijani-Latvian intergovernmental commission on economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation was held, said the Azerbaijani Embassy in Latvia.
Another EU country offers official Baku cooperation in the areas of clean technologies, food processing, pharmaceuticals, and health tourism. According to the Minister of Transport of Latvia Uldis Augulis, the priority directions of economic partnership include increase in the bilateral trade, joint investment projects, effective use of international transport corridors, and communication in the fields of education, agriculture, construction, tourism and health. In addition, Azerbaijan is an important partner of Latvia in the field of transit and logistics, as both countries are an important transportation artery and part of the new transport corridors Silk Way and North-South.
According to the State Statistics Committee, last year the trade turnover with Latvia amounted to $ 9 million. Azerbaijan has 20 companies with Latvian capital, specializing in trade, industry, construction and services. --17D-
