LLC CTS-AGRO to Pay Cotton Growers a Fifth of Stock Prices of Cotton

The collection and production of cotton this year will not increase even despite the statement of the company CTS-AGRO on the intention to sow cotton on at least 12,000 ha. And this is connected primarily with the purchase prices, which do not cover the costs of the villagers. Thus, in accordance with the company, the purchase price per ton of cotton, depending on its type, is set at 420 manats ($ 265) for the I ??grade, 400 manats - for the II grade, 380 manats - for the III grade, 360 manats - for the IV grade. And this is despite the fact that the stock exchange price of the product with the growing demand is $ 1,367.

Recall last year at the initiative of the same company cotton was planted on 10 thousand ha in Sabirabad, Imishli, Beylagan, Bilasuvar, Salyan, Agjabedi, Barda, Saatli, Ujar, Zardab, Agdash and other low-lying areas of the country and about 40,000 tons of cotton were handed over to the customer (an average of 4 tons per 1 ha).

Another reason for the low efficiency of the output is the minimum cotton machinery during the harvest. For example, last year, farmers were allocated credits in the form of an advance on the basis of the calculation of 250 manat per hectare, but the problems faced by the International Bank of Azerbaijan, whose client is LLC CTS-AGRO, prevented the transfer of these funds.

Even prizes to those who produce high-quality cotton and timely repay the debts and have high yields (2 tons from each hectare), will not help the industry. So, with yields of 21 to 25 quintals per 1 hectare the premium this fall will be 15 manats per ton of raw cotton, from 26 to 30 quintals per 1 hectare - 25 manats, from 31 to 35 quintals per 1 hectare - 35 manats, from 36 to 40 quintals per 1 hectare - 45 manats, and from 41 to 45 quintals per 1 hectare - 50 manats. --17D-
