Manat Monetary Base Rose by 1.8 % Last Month
The manat monetary base at the end of August 2013 amounted to 10,616.8 million manat, an increase in the reported month to 189.2 million or 1.8 percent.
According to the Central Bank, since the beginning of the year the monetary base has expanded by 101.8 million or 0.9 %, and over the past 12 months - by 1540.5 million or 17%.
The monetary base is the amount of cash and cash commercial banks deposited with the Central Bank as required reserves. With this money the Central Bank fulfills its obligations to the commercial banks and the government. - 15B -
