Ministry of Labor and Asian Development Bank Discuss Employment Policy in Azerbaijan
Baku hosts a meeting of the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of Population Salim Muslimov with the project manager of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) Giovanni Capanelli to review employment policy in Azerbaijan.
According to the report of the Ministry with reference to the representative of ADB, the bank studies are needed to understand the stability of the economies in the countries of the region.
According to Muslimov, from 2003 to 2016 there opened more than 1.4 million jobs plus 37,000 in the first quarter of this year. The Minister also noted the positive dynamics of the demographic with an annual population growth rate by an average of 1.3% - by April 1, it had a population of 9 million 723.5 thousand people.
The Minister noted the preparation of the employment strategy in the years 2016-2025, as well as the willingness to listen to the recommendations of the study group of ADB. --17D-

Rice imports to Azerbaijan have soared to unprecedented levels during the January-November 2024 period, reflecting both rising domestic demand and increasing global food prices.
