Ministry of Taxes Concluded Three Contracts with Companies of Synergy Group
The Ministry of Taxes has announced the signing of three agreements on the implementation of procurement totaling 786,610 manat. Suppliers of the goods and services are two companies within the framework of Synergy Group.
According to the Ministry of Taxes, Ltd. Bestpack received an order for the publication of printing goods worth 227.9 thousand manat and office supplies amounting to 296.1 thousand manat. In February last year, the company received a contract from the Ministry of Taxes for the publication of printing goods worth 162.3 thousand manat. In November of the same year the company received a second contract worth 163.1 thousand manat. In 2013, the company Bestpack manufactured printing goods for 164.5 thousand manat for the Ministry of Taxes. The kind of these goods has not been specified.
Ltd. B.N.M. Company, another subsidiary of Synergy Group, will deliver household goods for 296.1 thousand manat to the Ministry of Taxes.
Note that the Ministry of Taxes has a business relationship with other structures of the holding. The new administrative building for the agency is built by Ltd. Renaissance Construction Azerbaijan.
According to the register of commercial legal entities, Synergy Group is owned by Ashraf Kamilov (99% stake), who at one time worked in the Ministry of Taxes (1999-2000.). This same person, according to official documents, controls another large industrial and construction corporation Accord. Local media claim that the real owner of Synergy Group, which includes more than 30 companies, is the Minister of Taxes, Fazil Mammadov. At the same time, there is indirect evidence that this investment holding is a unit of the business conglomeration of the ruling Aliyev family. ---08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
