Ministry of Taxes Copes with Plan
In the first half of the year the Ministry of Taxes ensured the transfer to the state budget of 3 billion 190.1 million manats. That is 156.2 million AZN less than for the comparable period of 2015.
However, the analytical information department of the Ministry noted that the forecast task was fulfilled by 102%.
It should be noted that this year the Ministry of Taxes has to ensure the transfer to the state budget of 7 billion 10 million AZN, about as much as in 2015. Of this amount, 5.4 billion AZN, or 77% is projected to collect from the non-oil sector of the economy. -----08D

Azerbaijan’s food imports have surged to unprecedented levels, with a significant rise recorded in the first nine months of 2024, according to data from the State Customs Committee. Food imports for January-September reached USD 1.755 billion, marking an 11.4% increase over the same period last year. This represents a USD 179.7 million increase compared to 2023, setting a record for food imports in the country’s history. Over the past decade, food imports have more than doubled, rising by 2.4 times, with a notable 52.5% growth in the last five years alone.
