Oil production on Western Chirag platform reached 100,000 barrels
Since beginning of the Western Chirag platform operation the production exceeded 90,000 barrels a day from January to September 2014, reads the quarterly report of BP-Azerbaijan company (the operator of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli offshore bloc of fields).
At present the volume of production from the platform has reached 100,000 barrels.
Production of the first oil on the Western Chirag platform from the well J05 started on January 28, 2014.
Four more wells, including J11, J07, J14 and J02z, were put into operation from January to September 2014.
Drilling of the sixth well J10 continues on the platform.
According to BP’s plans, at the first stage 14 wells will be put into operation on the platform, of which 6 wells in 2014 and the remaining 8 wells in 2015 and 2016.
In 2014 the company hopes to extract 3 million tons of oil from the Western Chirag field.
The contract for ACG development was signed on September 20, 1994 and entered into force on December 12, 1994. The partners of the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli are BP (35.78%), SOCAR (11.6461%), Chevron (11.27%), Statoil (8.5633%), Inpex (10.96%), ExxonMobil (8.0006%), TPAO (6.75%), Itochu (4.3%) and ONGC (2.72%). –0--

As Azerbaijan gears up to host the 29th UN Climate Change Conference of the Parties (COP29), the State Migration Service (SMS), in partnership with the COP29 Organizing Committee and COP29 Azerbaijan operating company, has implemented measures to simplify migration registration, enhance information dissemination, and expedite issue resolution for incoming delegates. The statement was part of a Sustainable Development Goals dialogue titled “Echoes of the Future: Climate Action and Coordination of Efforts Toward Global Goals,” co-organized by Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Economy and the UN office in the country.
