President Aliyev Receives President Rouhani’s Envoy
Returning to work on Tuesday after a week-long vacation, President Ilham Aliyev received the Minister of Communications and Information Technology of Iran Mahmoud Vaezi, who is co-chair of the Azerbaijani-Iranian intergovernmental commission in economy, trade and humanitarian spheres.
Vaezi arrived in Azerbaijan to study issues related to the upcoming August 8 visit of President of Iran Hassan Rouhani, who will take part in the trilateral meeting with the Presidents of Russia and Azerbaijan.
The summit will be dedicated to the forthcoming opening of the North-South transport corridor, as well as issues of regional security and cooperation in various fields.
Before meeting with Aliyev, Vaezi had meetings at the Ministries of Communications and Economy.
The Azerbaijani President praised the level of bilateral relations in various fields and noted the special role of Vaezi in this. He also sent his greetings to the President of Iran, which could mean that he is waited impatiently in Baku on August 8. -0-

Data on Azerbaijan's oil exports for January-October 2024 reveals a significant drop in both volume and value compared to the same period last year, highlighting the challenges facing the oil-dependent economy. The country exported 495,484.05 tons of oil products worth $309.02 million, a decrease of 40.3% in value and 40.7% in volume compared to 2023, when exports totaled 925,225.07 tons worth $572.21 million.
