Baku / 19.09.16 / Turan: Today there was a ceremony of laying the foundation of a new bitumen production plant in the framework of reconstruction of the refinery named after Heydar Aliyev in Baku. The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev participated in the ceremony.
According to the state news agency AzerTAC, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev informed the Azerbaijani President about the construction of the new plant for bitumen production and the works to be carried out within the framework of the reconstruction of the Heydar Aliyev Refinery.
President Ilham Aliyev laid the foundation of the new bitumen production plant in the reconstruction of the Heydar Aliyev Refinery.
The President was informed that more than 80 items of modern equipment had been purchased and imported.
Turan recalls that so far bitumen is produced only at the refinery Azerneftyag, which specializes in the production of heavy distillers. Since January last year, the plant has legally ceased to exist and was merged with the Heydar Aliyev Refinery. There currently operates mainly the bitumen plant. After a new bitumen plant will be put into operation at the Heydar Aliyev Refinery in 2018, dismantling of the old refinery Azernetyag will start. Its territory will be transferred to the White City balance and the extension of Baku Boulevard will start. --12D--
