Priorities of Industrial and Agricultural Sectors
President Ilham Aliyev has identified government investment priorities in the field of industrial and agricultural production in the coming years.
According to the order, economic activities are defined by separate administrative territories, as well as the criterion for the minimum investment projects for each of them.
The country is divided into five investment zones. These are: Baku; the suburban settlements of Baku and the Absheron region; Sumgait and Ganja; Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic, cross-border and border areas; other areas.
Total identified are 31 types of economic activity that are priorities for investment. The minimum amount of investments in them depends on the region and ranges between 0.2 million - 10 million manat. Only for one of them (the extraction and processing of metallic ores) the minimum amount of investment should reach 50 million AZN. -----08D

The 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change has taken a significant step towards a unified global response to climate change. On the first day of discussions in Baku, participating countries reached a historic agreement on the rules governing the creation and trade of carbon credits. This decision paves the way for the launch of multibillion-dollar carbon credit markets, to be overseen by the United Nations, potentially as soon as next year.
