Private Sector Did Not Take Employees to Work for Twelve Months
As of December 1, 2016, the economy of Azerbaijan had 1 million 514.4 thousand employees, which is 700 people more than in the beginning of November, the State Statistics Committee said.
The number of employees ‘living on salary’ increased by 10.4 thousand in 12 months.
According to the SSC, on December 1 in the corporate sector, there were 624.9 thousand workers employed, which is only 300 more than at the beginning of December of the previous year. Labor force growth is due to the public sector, where 889.5 thousand people are employed. -----08D

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
