Production of Rebar Decreased by 7%
In the first 11 months of this year, Azerbaijan produced 202.5 thousand tons of rebar. This is 4.8% less than what was supplied from abroad for the first nine months of 2015.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in January-November the output of rebar decreased 7%.
LLC Baku Steel Company is a major manufacturer and supplier of building bars in Azerbaijan. The production is also arranged at LLC Sumqayit Tekhnologiyalar Parki. The two companies do not disclose the actual volumes of production and sales.
In November 2014 Baku Steel Company announced reduction of wholesale prices for the entire range of products by 18%. The price of semi-finished products, construction rebar, angles, channels and wire rod was reduced from 720 to 590 manat ($ 719) per 1 ton. Later prices were again increased to 630 manat. The sales department of BSC told Turan that two months ago the prices were again reduced to the same level - 590 manat ($ 620).
According to the State Customs Committee, in the first nine months of this year 212.5 thousand tons of rebar (excluding other rolled metal products) was imported to Azerbaijan. This is 54.7% more than in the comparable period of 2014. A ton of imported rebar is issued at the local customs at $ 451.3, or $ 96 lower than in the comparable period of 2014.
Azerbaijan for the three quarters exported 3,234 tons of rebar at an average of $ 438.4 per ton. It is noteworthy that during this period Azerbaijan exported 30.2 thousand tons of semi-finished steel, which was issued at the Azerbaijani customs at $ 276.5 / ton, while last year the average price of the declared commodity was $ 454.8. ------08B

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
