Smoothing Territorial "Misunderstanding" between Administrative Units
To address the problem of disputed territories subordinated to administrative units, Milli Majlis will create a working group with representatives of relevant ministries and departments.
The head of the parliamentary committee for regional affairs Arif Rahimzadeh said during the discussions in the MM Azerbaijan developed a refined map of territorial units based on the complaints of the local executive authorities. "The committee received 59 complaints of such disputes - as an example of misunderstanding between the Absheron district and the neighboring Sabunchu, Binagadi and Garadagh districts of the capital, as well as the Shamakhi region. Mutual territorial claims also exist between the districts of Imishli, Beylagan and Bilasuvar, Agjabedi and Barda, Khachmaz and Shabran, the cities of Baku and Sumgait, as well as the capital and the Hajigabul district,” he said.
The cause of these misunderstandings, he said, is merging and creation of additional administrative units. While solving the problem, according to the deputy, they will take into consideration the demographic processes, the interests of citizens, the infrastructure and prospects of development of regions of the country, said the head of the parliamentary committee. --17D-
