SOCAR transits to one-step system of management
SOCAR has decided to implement structural changes.
SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev said that it is planned to start structural reforms in January 2014.
“The three-step management step does not exist anywhere in the world. This is the remnant of the Soviet time and we have to get rid of it. We used to have four-step management system in the drilling field, but we reduce it to a three-step one. Now we plan to reduce it to a one-step management system. The drilling companies will be united into a one company within SOCAR with its own management personnel and fields of activities,” Abdullayev said.
He said the similar reforms will be performed in the geophysics and geology departments, the oil pipelines department and Azerigas, which is in charge of gas sales at the Azerbaijani market.
It is not planned to reduce the personnel as a result of the reforms. If the engineers cannot find jobs, they will be paid a compensation worth five times of their salary upon agreement with the trade unions of the oil and gas industry, SOCAR President said.—0—
