Temporary Ban Introduced on Imports of Live Birds and Poultry Products from Several Russian Regions
The State Veterinary Service under the Ministry of Agriculture adopted a temporary ban on the import of live birds and poultry products from a number of Russian regions on December 14. The decision was made in connection with the outbreak of highly pathogenic avian influenza infection in the Republic of Kalmykia and the Astrakhan region.
The ban on imports of live birds and poultry products acts in relation not only to the regions, but also the surrounding areas: Dagestan, Volgograd, Rostov and Stavropol regions and Cherkessk. ------08D
