The Government Approves Amendments to Cross-Border Currency Transportation Rules

Environmental protection expenditures in Azerbaijan surged 2.9 times in 2023 compared to the previous year, reaching 677.4 million manats, equivalent to 0.6 percent of the country's gross domestic product, the State Statistics Committee reported.

According to the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, 179,000 foreigners and stateless persons arrived in Azerbaijan in the first half of 2024, marking a 34.0% increase compared to the same period last year. The visitors hailed from 1231.1 countries.

The Cabinet of Ministers of Azerbaijan has approved a series of amendments to the "rules for declaring goods and vehicles across the customs border," as per the decree dated July 22, 2024, No. 263.

Prime Minister Ali Asadov chaired a meeting on Monday to discuss preparations for the 2024-2025 autumn-winter heat supply season in Azerbaijan. The session, held with the Cabinet of Ministers, focused on ensuring readiness of boiler houses and thermal power plants, improving the operations of the state-owned Azeristiktehizat, and addressing other related issues, according to the Cabinet’s press service.
