Azerbaijan Central Bank announces the official exchange rates on January 22. The rate of manat to the US dollar remained unchanged: 1USD = 1,6028 AZN. Despite the fact that from January 19, reducing the rate of the manat to the US dollar has stopped, an acute shortage of US currency is maintained. A very small number of banks are selling dollars and euros, and very limited number sell it in the range of $100 or the equivalent of this amount in euros. On the "black market" the dollar is worth 1.7 manat.-06D--

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
