Today in Baku Opens Exhibition of Food Industry
Tomorrow at Baku Expo Center will open 19th Azerbaijan International Exhibition "Food Industry" WorldFood Azerbaijan 2013. This year it attracted a record number of exhibitors - 179 companies from 31 countries.
Today, the exhibition organizers held a press conference with the participation of Deputy Minister of Agriculture Ilham Guliyev, who praised the contribution of these activities to development of agriculture, food processing and packaging. The organizers are the company Iteca Caspian LLC and ITE Group PLC.
Director of ITE Group Edward Strachan said WorldFood Azerbaijan 2013 shows 27% increase in both parties, and on the exhibition area. Traditionally, the exhibition is dominated by companies from the CIS and Europe. Local companies account for 38% of the total number of exhibitors. Separate stand supports the Nakhichevan Autonomous Republic. This year's newcomers, including companies from Azerbaijan, Russia, USA, Turkey, are up by 45%. Along with commercial organizations for the first time in WorldFood Azerbaijan participating National stands Latvia, Belgium and Iran. For the first time in Baku, the company came from Uzbekistan and Jordan. WorldFood Azerbaijan combines several thematic exhibitions: food, drinks, and technology.
Director of Sales Exhibition WorldFood Azerbaijan Samira Teymurova said that the exhibition stands of equipment for the food industry, with meat, canned products, groceries, ingredients, tea, fruits and vegetables, confectionery, rich assortment of drinks.
Sector "packaging" is the second Caspian International Exhibition "Packaging, Tare, Label and Printing" Ipack Caspian 2013. Companies from Azerbaijan, Hungary, Lithuania, Russia, Turkey, the Czech Republic and other countries show packaging machines and equipment for the production of packaging, packaging materials and finished products, label products, glass containers.
The first two days of the exhibition will be open only to professionals, representatives of the food industry, wholesalers and retailers, importers of agricultural products distributors. On the closing day (May 24), the exhibition will be open to all comers. Organizers expect more than 6 million visitors. 08C

Azerbaijani internet service providers Aztelekom and Baktelekom will introduce substantial changes to their pricing structure starting August 15, the companies announced today. Under the new tariffs, the minimum internet speed will rise to 100 Mbit/s, with the cost per Mbit/s decreasing from 0.45 AZN to 0.25 AZN. As a result, monthly charges will be set at 25 AZN for 100 Mbit/s, 30 AZN for 150 Mbit/s, and 36 AZN for 250 Mbit/s.
