USB Key to Replace Smart Card
BAKU / 20.09.16 / TURAN: Electronic services and signatures on documents have become more secure. The Director of the Certification Service Information and Computing Center of the Ministry of Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Arif Mailov told the media it has become possible due to the started issue of certified USB keys.
According to the official, these devices are identical in their characteristics to Smart cards. The keys can be connected directly to the computer through the appropriate port for the use of so-called card readers. Acquisition of the keys is a technical matter; it is necessary to go to the page e-imza.az or contact the National Center of certification services.
These keys are used for authentication, protection of e-mails, personal data storage, as well as to sign documents, storage of private keys and certificates. They cost 18 manats, which includes the ability to take full advantage of the e-signature, which is cheaper than a Smart card (worth 13 manats plus 18 manats for the e-signature for the "ordinary" citizens).
Recall, for individual entrepreneurs the e-signature for a period of 3 years costs 36 AZN, for legal entities - 72 AZN, and for government employees - 58 manats. --17D-
