Why Is Number of Taxpayers in Azerbaijan only Half Million?
In January and February has increased significantly the number of taxpayers in Azerbaijan. According to the Ministry of Taxes, the increase was 14 418 people.
As of March 1, 2013 the total number of taxpayers was 496 128 people. Of these, 66 thousand 85 (individual entrepreneurs without legal entity status) were electronic registration. In the two months of this year there were registered 16 203 taxpayers. The share of electronic tax returns was increased to 91.7%.
According to experts, half a million taxpayers for Azerbaijan is few. In the country there are 4 million 680 thousand able-bodied citizens. Of these 37 142 are registered unemployed persons, 248 000 are informally unemployed, the public sector includes 600 thousand, and engaged employees are 1 million 480 thousand 925. It turns out that the individual labor and business (otherwise how would they live) involved 2.35 million people.
The Ministry of Taxes in 2012 provided the labor rights of more than 180 thousand employees, thus helped to State Social Protection Fund to identify and register 55 094 employers - payers of compulsory social insurance. But this is a drop in the sea of confusion and "gray accounting" in the labor market. - 17D-
