On September 3, the ruling Justice and Development Party of Turkey (AKP) launched the election campaign by holding a rally in Samsun, and "gave out" one of the main "tools" of campaigning: the activities of “Baykar Makina”, the defense company of Selçuk Bayraktar,son-in-law of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, including the festivals organized by  the company. This action also showed that a TEKNOFEST exhibition could be held on the same day  when the rallies of the 20-year-old AKP are held in  each region. In fact, even prior to the head of state, his son-in-law himself  hinted that "when leaving the power, my work may be hindered," but the opposition did not catch the subtext of what was said.

Not lessening the significance of the success of the S. Bayraktar company,  President Erdogan, as a highly experienced politician, speaking about the “significant increase in the production of local and national weapons systems by the military industry of Turkey, along with others, skillfully names the Bayraktar company among the first: “Of course, I am  proud  when  I see TEKNOFEST. When I first came to power, the share of local production in the defense industry was 20%, and today it is 80%. It is a great progress! This is not the result of wasting time, Mr. Kemal, this is the result of our hardwork. Well, thanks for visting  TEKNOFEST. They took him around the exhibition, maybe, with God's help, he will be inspired.

The ruling alliance will submit  to the parliament  a draft law on holding elections  a month ahead of schedule (if they are held in a timely manner, the question of the legality of R.Erdogan's candidacy may arise). And regardless of whether the opposition bloc will support or reject this document, the president, although he is waiting for the opposition to express one or another attitude towards the bill, will  sharply criticise it.

Erdogan's foreign policy can be analyzed by his rallies and television speeches, in which he speaks about his actions in the conditions that have developed after the Russian attack on Ukraine: “Where was I two days ago? In Ukraine. And a week ago? In Sochi. For what purpose? To strengthen the  peace. We stand for the triumph of peace throughout the world. We gave the nation an oath and undertook the obligation to bring Turkey to the highest level of the world system of governance and economy by 2053!”

These provisions show major changes in the goals of the AKP and its leader. After the third victory in the elections (in June 2011), Mr. Erdogan called  the 2023 as the date for achieving the main goal of his political activity, often repeating that with the support of his adherents “in the year of the 100th anniversary of the Republic, the plans will be achieved.” But today this term has moved forward by 30 years (an experienced member of the ruling bloc, the leader of the MHP, Devlet Bahceli, named 2071 in this regard).

But, to be more realistic,  considering daily changes in the world, we must admit: Turkey cannot achieve the deactivation of Russia's S-400 missiles in Syria, or Washington's refusal to support the Kurdish terrorist groups that created the canton in the northeast this country so that Ankara could carry out a new military campaign there.

Along with ongoing problems with Greece  due to the Aegean Islands, Athens, with the silent contemplation of the United States and NATO, continues to stubbornly insist on its own. The head of state connects this and similar situations with "anxiety of arms dealers in the development of the national defense industry." Although his statement is partly correct, just as such provisions do not transform reality, it is not known how they can help the AKP in the election campaign.

Therefore, the most experienced politician and statesman of Turkey R.T. Erdogan, observing prudence, does not limit himself in using his “gold reserve” in the current election campaign: drink festivals, concerts of singers who feel free in choosing clothes are canceled without condescension, radical religious rhetoric becomes even sharper ...

Well, what else can help under the current worst inflation and devaluation in the history of Turkey, and the absence of finances necessary to get out of the situation?

Let me once again express my personal position: I am sure that the most experienced politician and statesman of Turkey will win the elections, which will be held, at the latest, in nine months.

As for the title of this article, the words of the ghazal of Sayyid Azim Shirvani seemed to me the most suitable (1) “I said: Allah is merciful!”...

  • Seyid Azim Shirvani (July 9, 1835, Shemakha - May 20, 1888, ibid.) - an outstanding Azerbaijani poet, teacher and educator of the 19th century. He received his higher spiritual education in Iraq, but after returning to Azerbaijan, he abandoned the priesthood and opened a private school. In love-lyrical gazelles, S.A. Shirvani acted as a follower of the Fuzuli tradition. In satirical poems and fables, he ridiculed the clergy, backwardness and ignorance, calling for enlightenment and culture. Contemporary poets considered him their teacher.
