The Polish Sejm has endorsed Donald Tusk as the country's new prime minister. The vote saw 248 deputies in favor of Tusk's candidacy, with 201 against, as reported by the Polish portal Onet. Notably, there were no abstentions in this crucial decision.

Taking to the parliamentary rostrum, the newly appointed prime minister expressed gratitude, stating, "I will be indebted to those who believed in the new Polish hope." Tusk emphasized the profound trust placed in him and his vision for Poland, characterizing the moment as one of historic change.

Scheduled for December 12 at 9:00 (11:00 Moscow time), Prime Minister Tusk will unveil his action program and the government's composition, along with a proposal for the election of a council of ministers. The subsequent vote on the new Council of Ministers is set to take place at 15:00 (17:00 Moscow time).

The parliamentary elections in Poland concluded on October 15, with the Law and Justice party securing 35.38% of the vote. The center-right Civic Coalition emerged as the main opponent, garnering 30.7% of the vote and securing the second position. The "Third Way," an electoral bloc with a center-right orientation, followed with 14.4% of the votes. Prime Minister Morawiecki hailed his party's third consecutive victory as "historic." Polish President Andrzej Duda swore in the new government on November 27, only to face a vote of no confidence from the Polish Sejm on December 11.

Donald Tusk, who previously served as Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Poland from 2007 to 2014, resigned on September 9, 2014, following his election to the post of President of the European Council, a position he held for five years. As he returns to the helm of Polish politics, Tusk's leadership is poised to shape the course of the nation in this new chapter.
