Who Owns Missiles Shown in Yerevan?
Yerevan / 21.09.16 / Turan: On Wednesday Yerevan hosted a military parade dedicated to the Independence Day of Armenia. The main intrigue of the parade was demonstration of new military equipment, including tactical missile systems called Iskander, multiple-launch rocket systems 9K58 Smerch, and the electronic warfare system Infauna.
According to the official report, the parade was attended by the combined units of the Russian-Armenian group of troops, units of the Armenian army and the 102nd Russian military base in Armenia.
There is still no clear answer to the question who owns the Iskander and Smerch systems demonstrated.
Until recently, the Russian side did not confirm the delivery of the systems to Armenia.
According to some reports, Iskanders were delivered to the 102nd Russian base back in 2013 and have not been transferred to Armenia. -02B-
