A group of NGOs calls Ilham Aliyev not to approve the legislative restrictions for NGOs
In connection with the upcoming wave of next restrictive amendments to the legislation , 35 leading NGOs of Azerbaijan issued a statement of protest.
The document noted that additional restrictions adopted on December 17, " have caused serious concern , because they significantly restrict the activities of NGOs and the right of association ."
These amendments were adopted without opinion and consultation with civil society. Therefore, NGOs are calling the head of state not to approve these amendments, and bring the legislation in line with European standards.
At the same time, the leaders of civil society who have signed the statement condemned the arrest of the head of the EMDS, Anar Mammadov.
The talk is about the introduction of heavy fines for NGOs in the case of late submission of documents and information for documentation of violations, automatic liquidation, restrictions on the activities of local representative offices of foreign NGOs , etc. -05D-
