Note that Hasanov is accused of embezzlement while working as Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Romania, Serbia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro from 2010 to 2020. The point is about misappropriation of more than 180.000 euros during the repair work and the acquisition of premises for embassies.
On August 16, Hasanov made a statement that denied all the charges as saying that he fell victim to slander against him by two persons in power whose names he did not name.
