Baku/08.03.23/Turan: Several dozen activists in defense of women's rights and equality held an unauthorized rally in the center of Baku on March 8.
They held slogans in their hands: “Killing women are political crimes”, “Protect our lives”, “Do not reconcile, but investigate”.
The activists gathered on Fountain Square and marched towards the Azerbaijan cinema, surrounded by dozens of policemen.
On the way, they chanted slogans written on posters. Several times they lit flares, but the police blew them out of the hands of the activists.
In front of the "Azerbaijan" cinema, the police blocked the protesters. They stood in this place for more than half an hour, chanting their slogans.
In conclusion, the feminists read out their demands and dispersed. There were no serious incidents with the police. -06B-

From 19 to 26 July, 24 automatic rifles, 1 machine gun, 9 rifles, 28 grenades, 441 shells, 3118 cartridges of different calibre and other ammunition were found in Khankendi, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported. During the mentioned period, the police found 1 machine gun, 50 grenades, 7 fuses, 3 shells and 320 cartridges of different calibre in Shusha.

President Ilham Aliyev has approved by decree the Azerbaijan-Kazakh intergovernmental agreement on cooperation in military intelligence defense sector. The document was signed in Baku on 7 June 2024.
