Aliyev and Fisher Expressed Concern over the Syrian Conflict
The President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and the President of Austria Heinz Fischer expressed concern about the further development of the Syrian conflict after the deadly bomb attacks on the Turkish border, said the website of the President of Austria.
At a joint press conference in Vienna yesterday, Aliyev told reporters he did not want further spread of the conflict, which has innocent victims.
He called "barbaric act" the act of terrorism in the Turkish border town of Reyhanlı that killed 46 people.
Austrian President Heinz Fischer said it is not in the interests of Syria to make the situation more complex and to open another front. He said he hoped to reach an agreement on the issue on Syria with Russia in the UN Security Council.
Fisher supports solution to the conflict "only through a political solution, and not by military means." -0 -
