Website of President Heinz Fischer Emphasizes the Principles of "Respect for Human Rights" and "Rule of Law" in the Azerbaijani-Austrian Declaration
The theme of "values, norms and principles of democracy," "human rights" and "rule of law" was highlighted in a joint declaration on friendship and cooperation signed by the Presidents of Azerbaijan and Austria in Vienna on May 13, reports website of the President of Austria.
As the site notes, Heinz Fischer noted as "remarkable fact" that Azerbaijan will invite to the upcoming presidential elections, "a large number" of observers. President also expressed his satisfaction with the fact that Azerbaijan will participate in the Anti-Corruption Academy in Lower Austria, Luxemburg.
It is noteworthy that neither the website of the President of Azerbaijan, nor the government and pro-government media mentioned this part of the conversation Aliyev and Fisher. No one paid any attention to the references to the theme of human rights and freedoms in the text of the declaration, which distributed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan. Given the political control of the media from the presidential administration of Azerbaijan, it is preferred to focus on energy cooperation and thereby demonstrate the priority of the energy interests over the political interests of the West in Azerbaijan. -0 -
