Aliyev and Maduro discuss joint investment projects and joint ventures
Baku/17.06.22/Turan: The presidents of Azerbaijan and Venezuela, discussed the issues of the development of bilateral relations, as well as interaction in various international organizations, including the Non-Aligned Movement. Maduro stressed that Venezuela has always supported the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict within the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.
President Aliyev noted that the conflict has been resolved and Azerbaijan has restored justice, international law and territorial integrity. The head of state also said that Azerbaijan and Venezuela have always supported and will continue to support each other's sovereignty and independence.
The parties noted the need to expand cooperation in the economic sphere and interaction between business circles. In this regard, as was emphasized, the discussion of such issues as joint investment projects and the creation of joint ventures is of great importance.
The meeting noted the successful activities of the two countries in the OPEC + format, and also discussed other issues of mutual interest. --06D--

The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.

During the ongoing COP29 climate conference in Baku on November 14, a group of activists staged a protest condemning Russia's aggression against Ukraine. The activists also denounced countries that supply oil and weapons to nations waging aggressive wars. The protest featured placards with slogans such as: "From fossil fuels to peace!", "End war crimes!", "Punish the aggressor!", and "Phase out fossil fuel use to achieve peace!" among others.
