Aliyev believes that the meeting between the Azerbaijani and Armenian Foreign Ministries will lead to the full implementation of the November 10, 2020 statement
Baku/15.07.22/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev expressed hope that the first meeting of the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Armenia, which to be held on July 16 in Tbilisi, will have positive consequences. "I believe that as a result of this meeting the Armenian side will form its own working group," he said on July 15 at a meeting dedicated to the results of six months of this year, noting that the Azerbaijani side has formed its own working group.
Aliyev expressed his indignation at Armenia's failure to fulfill its obligation to withdraw its troops from the territory of Azerbaijan after the signing of the peace agreement on November 10, 2020.
“Unfortunately, there are more negative moments. One of them is the ignorance by Armenia of the issues noted in the declaration signed on November 10, 2020. The November 10 declaration is actually an act of capitulation of Armenia, and Armenia, as the losing side in the war, has assumed obligations. These obligations are clearly indicated there. One of them is the withdrawal of the Armenian armed forces from Karabakh. So far this issue has not been resolved. We have repeatedly raised this issue, but Armenia is prolonging it. At the same time, we raised this issue with the Russian military leadership, and a few months ago, during a visit to Azerbaijan, a high-ranking official of the Russian Defense Ministry promised our Ministry of Defense that by June the Armenian armed formations would be withdrawn from Karabakh. But today is already the middle of July, this issue has not yet been resolved. Armenia does not fulfill this obligation, contrary to the November 10 declaration. Russian peacekeepers - the Russian side also signed the Declaration on November 10 - as they say, do not force them to do so. Of course, this is an intolerable situation. Because the presence of Armenian armed forces on the territory of Azerbaijan is completely unacceptable. We are a victorious country, we have restored our territorial integrity. If Armenia does not want to withdraw its armed formations from the territory of Azerbaijan, then let them tell us about it openly, and we know our job. What will be our answer? Perhaps it is inappropriate to talk about it now. But this means a gross violation of the November 10 declaration," Aliyev said.—0—
