Baku/14.04.23/Turan: President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev congratulated the Orthodox Christian community on Easter. "The Easter holiday is a symbol of rebirth, renewal, feelings of mercy and compassion. On the occasion of this significant day, I once again wish each of you happiness, pleasant holidays and prosperity to your families."
The congratulation notes that "in Azerbaijan, which is the homeland for all who have settled and lived here for hundreds of years, representatives of various ethnic groups and faiths still live in peace, tranquility, mutual respect and trust. ... In the modern Republic of Azerbaijan, known as one of the addresses of multiculturalism in the world, ample opportunities have been created for all ethnic and religious minorities, including the Christian community, to properly use their national and spiritual values, preserve their traditions, language and culture. It is commendable that our Orthodox citizens, working in such a democratic and tolerant environment, together with representatives of other faiths, actively participate in all spheres of our socio-political life, make a worthy contribution to the comprehensive development of our independent state."
