Aliyev Receives U.S. Advisor to the Minister of Defense
On Thursday, President Ilham Aliyev received the U.S. delegation led by Kathleen Hicks, the Chief Advisor to the Minister of Defense.
Kathleen Hicks said the United States appreciates Azerbaijan's participation in the peacekeeping mission in Afghanistan and the contribution it makes to the mission.
The U.S. is interested in further expansion of relations in the field of defense and bringing them to the level of strategic cooperation. She stressed the importance of the mutual exchange of views on "determining areas of cooperation in this field."
In turn, Aliyev stressed that cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense has a long history and is satisfactory from the point of view of regional and energy security as well as to enhance stability.
He expressed confidence in further expansion of bilateral relations in various areas, including in the area of defense. -02D-
