Approximately 2000 lawyers want to become lawyers
Baku / 13.01.18 / Turan: Up to 2000 lawyers wishing to become lawyers applied with the Bar Association, the information of the special commission of the Bar Association says. The decision of the Board of the Bar Association on December 9, 2017 renewed the process of admission to the Bar, and the reception of documents was completed on January 11. For the first time in the history of the Bar Association, the candidates were presented preparatory programs. The European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) today issued five rulings on applications from Azerbaijan. The case of "Afgan Mammadov v. Azerbaijan" concerned the complainant's exclusion from the Bar Association. Mammadov was expelled based on a complaint filed by a colleague, which he considered unjust. The ECHR ruled that Mammadov's rights had been violated and ordered Azerbaijan to pay him €5,000 in compensation for moral damage and €1,000 to cover legal costs.
