Arif Hajili visits Brussels at the invitation of the EU
Arif Hajili , the head of the "Musavat" party is participating at the conference "The Future of the Eastern Partnership in a liberal democratic perspective" in Brussels at the invitation of the European Union.
According to the press service of "Musavat", in the framework of the visit Hajili met with government officials and politicians post-Soviet countries. In particular, with President of the European Liberal Union Guillaume Verhofstadt, coordinator of the European Parliament's Foreign Affairs Hans van Balen, the European Commissioner for Human Rights Vera Zhurova, former Finnish Prime Minister Anneli Yaaattenenmyaki, former Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, head of the Russian party "Yabloko" Sergei Mitrokhin, a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Mykola Katerynchuk, former Georgian Foreign Minister Maya Panjikidze, and others.
The meeting participants discussed the issues on European integration of Azerbaijan and former Soviet countries, political reforms, the problem of political prisoners, Karabakh conflict, cooperation with European structures. The visit will last till the end of the week. -06D-
