Armenia prepares large-scale provocations - Azerbaijani Defense Ministry
Baku / 19.09.20 / Turan: Armenia is preparing large-scale provocations in order to aggravate the situation at the front, said Azerbaijani Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov. The leadership of the Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan gave instructions on the preparation of preventive measures with the specification of mobilization resources.
On September 19, Defense Minister Zakir Hasanov held a meeting with the leadership of the Azerbaijan Army, the press service of the military department reported.
The Minister of Defense noted that the latest data received and messages spread in the media, as well as the military rhetoric in the speeches of the military-political leadership of Armenia, the mobilization activities and the attraction of external forces to the region clearly indicate that the enemy intends to commit large-scale provocations and exacerbate the situation.
“Taking this into account, the forces and means at our disposal must be fully prepared not only to suppress any provocations, but also to take strict preventive measures. Special attention should be paid to reconnaissance activities and combat support, as well as to take organized actions in all directions.
It is necessary to strengthen control over the quality of exercises and trainings aimed at constantly increasing the combat capability and professionalism of the Azerbaijani Army, in particular its advanced units, as well as increasing the level of combat readiness of personnel and the liberation of the occupied territories,” Hasanov said.
He instructed officials to pay special attention to the transfer of weapons, military and special equipment to the winter operation mode in the Azerbaijan Army, the efficiency and timely completion of the preparation process for the winter period, the full provision of units, the health of the military, as well as measures to combat the COVID-19 pandemic.
In conclusion, Hasanov instructed to clarify combat crews and mobilization resources with the relevant structures in accordance with the action plan, as well as prepare for training camps in various specialties, field trips and combat training sessions with conscripts in the reserve. —06D-

According to the Turkish newspaper Sabah, officials from the Istanbul Prosecutor's Office's Anti-Smuggling Unit have detained an Azerbaijani citizen with a large shipment of gold. The detention took place near the Vadi İstanbul shopping center in the Sarıyer district, where a taxi was stopped. During the search, 70 kg of gold was found. The Azerbaijani citizen in the vehicle claimed ownership of the cargo and also stated that he was a diplomat. The investigation by the prosecutor's office is ongoing, reports Sabah newspaper. The media outlet does not disclose the name of the "diplomat," only his initials – M.G.Ş. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs has declined to comment on the situation.
