Armenians continue radio interference for navigation of civilian aircraft – Azerbaijani Defense Ministry
Baku/28.07.23/Turan: The Ministry of Defense of Azerbaijan reported an increase in cases of radio interference by Armenian armed formations in Karabakh against GPS satellite navigation systems of passenger aircraft of local and foreign airlines flying using the airspace of Azerbaijan. As a result of the use of radio interference :
On July 24, from 10:49 to 11:16, there were failures in the operation of the GPS satellite navigation system of the ATR-45 passenger aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines operating a flight Baku-Fuzuli;
On July 25, from 14:48 to 15:25, a passenger aircraft of type C-680 operated by Czech Airlines on the Budapest-Baku flight;
On July 27, from 14:08 to 14:30 and from 15:04 to 15:26, a passenger aircraft of the ATR-45 type of Azerbaijan Airlines operating a Baku-Gabala flight and in the opposite direction.
"The command of the Russian peacekeeping contingent was notified about these facts and similar cases that had previously taken place.
The Russian peacekeeping contingent has not yet taken any measures against these provocations, which pose a serious threat to the safety of flights carried out through the airspace of our country," the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry said in conclusion.---06B---
