Army Taking Measures to Prevent Corona Virus
Baku / 16.03.20 / Turan: On March 14, a meeting was held at the country's Ministry of Defense with the participation of the leadership of the military department, commanders of military branches, heads of main departments and services, and commanders of military associations.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Defense, during the meeting, Minister of Defense Zakir Hasanov touched on preventive measures to prevent infection with Corona Virus.
The Minister demanded that medical and sanitary-epidemiological measures be strengthened in military units: disinfecting work in military units and establishments, education of personnel, and increased attention to the observance of personal hygiene rules. At the same time, holding mass events and meetings with relatives of soldiers is limited. -02D-

On November 26, the Baku Court of Appeals reviewed the appeal of human rights defender Anar Mammadli, who contested the extension of his detention. Arrested economist Fazil Gasimov has reportedly faced pressure after protesting the interruption of a phone call with his family on November 16. "The phone call was cut off, and Fazil demanded that the connection be restored. Then, Jalal Alizadeh, a detention center officer, along with his colleagues, forcibly removed Fazil from the phone room in the medical unit of the facility, tearing his jacket and dragging him across the floor before throwing him into a cell.
