Arrest Term of Tofig Yagublu Extended by 2 Months
The Nasimi district court in Baku today extended for another two months the arrest of deputy chairman of the party Musavat Tofig Yagublu accused of organizing riots in Ismayilli on January 23-24.
According to the lawyer Nemat Kerimli, the court explained the extension of the detention with the probability of "Yagublu’s evasion of the investigation."
The lawyer explained the invalidity of these arguments, pointing out that with regard to Yagublu no investigation was conducted, and Yagublu called the charges absurd. The court's decision will be appealed.
Recall that Yagublu along with the head of the movement Republican Alternative Ilgar Mammadov is accused of organizing riots in Ismayilli on January 23-24. They were arrested on February 4, and face up to seven years in prison. -16B06-
