Arrested another opposition leader, already in Saatli
The head of the Saatli branch of the Popular Front Party (PFPA) Shamil Hajibeyli was called by the local police department on Feb. 28 morning and has not come out of there yet.
Turan was told by a duty police officer that in respect of Hajibeyli there was a complaint and the call was connected with the proceedings of the complaint. What exactly the complaint was, the attendant did not say.
Note that on March 3, a PFPA district conference is scheduled to be held in Saatli. After the publication of this information, the authorities began to pressure local activists, trying to prevent this event. One of the elements of this pressure was the publication by pro-government media of information about the destruction of dozens of tombstones by opposition activists in the village Musali. However, the defendants in this vandalism case have no relation to PFPA. In fact, the father of one of them is a member of the ruling New Azerbaijan Party. -03B-
