Azerbaijan and Astrakhan region expand cooperation
Baku/07.12.22/Turan: On Wednesday, at a meeting in Baku, Ilham Aliyev and the Governor of the Astrakhan region of the Russian Federation Igor Babushkin discussed the issues of expanding cooperation between Azerbaijan and the Astrakhan region. According to Babushkin, over 9 months of this year the volume of cargo transportation between the parties has grown by four times. The meeting focused on the organization of cargo transportation along the North-South transport corridor
In particular, Babushkin proposed to combine the potential of the ports of special economic zones through the territory of which the North-South corridor passes and invited the Azerbaijani port of Alyat to join this initiative. According to Babushkin, Baku's reaction was positive. In addition, the prospects for cooperation in shipbuilding and, in particular, cooperation between the shipbuilders of Astrakhan and Baku were discussed.
The issues of cooperation in the field of agriculture were touched upon. These issues will be discussed on December 8 during a conference with the participation of farmers from both sides. ----02D---
