Azerbaijan becomes an observer in the Pacific Alliance
Baku/06.07.19/Turan: At the 14th summit of the Pacific Alliance held in Lima, Azerbaijan unanimously obtained observer status in this organization, the press service of the country's foreign ministry said.
In his speech at the summit, Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov expressed gratitude for this, noting the interest of Azerbaijan to develop political and economic cooperation with the countries of the Pacific Alliance.
Mammadyarov also informed the summit participants about the potential of the transport and energy sectors of Azerbaijan. He also informed about the Karabakh conflict, which remains the main source of threat to regional security.
* The Pacific Alliance was created in 2011 by Mexico, Colombia, Peru and Chile.
Fifty nine countries, including the leading EU countries and North America, have observer status in the organization. The total GDP of the countries of this group takes the sixth place in the world economy. -06D-
